  • Welcome Baby Kaden

    Here is our new son!!!!!!!!!

Kaden Josiah Olson was born on April 1st at 2pm in the afternoon. He weighed 8lbs, 21 inches long.

Whoever said that the second labor was shorter than the first was wrong! Well....at least in this case. I went into labor at 2am and my contractions were 5-8 minutes apart. At 11am I haden't progressed past 6 centimeters. So, they broke my water and from there I went from 6 cm to 10 cm in 1 hour. Let's just say it was the most INTENSE HOUR OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!! After 18 minutes of pushing, Kaden came into the world. He is so precious, and has such a sweet nature. Gloria loves him, and is such a good helper.

God is so good, we prayed for so many things for this labor, and pregnancy, and it's so great to have a healthy baby.

  • 10 days and counting...

(not that due dates mean a thing!!!!!!!!!!!) But it is count down time.  It's been an extra 11 weeks of our baby baking in the oven since our scare in vancouver. He has grown so much as you can see :) Can't wait to post pictures of our expanding family over the next few weeks!

Gloria is not the baby any more! An obvious observation but i am having trouble letting her grow up. She now has a toddler room!!!!!  Goodbye change table, hello dollies, tea parties and dress up. I feel very very blessed to have had peace in my heart about taking each day at a time, because you never get a second chance to live today, and seeing how fast 20 months has gone by, this realization has made me look at every area of my life differently.

Even in my marriage to Kailen (3 1/2 years later) and my friendships in vancouver,  I am realizing what a blessing it is to enjoy those moments when you feel like time could just stop (uptop of lighthouse park on our engagement). I still can close my eyes and feel the rain beating down on my face as the violins play and the wind blowing through the candlelight.  I wish every day could be like that!!! Where a simple giggle from my daughter would stay with me for years to come. I guess this has been on my mind  a lot lately. Gratitude is so important, one of the most purest lenses to view life through.

  • Happy New Year....it's been too long!

I can't believe how fast these past few months have gone by.  So much has happened so I will try to do a short recap:

Christmas: Was amazing!!!! We had a quiet Christmas here and my brother Rob came over. I love my brother!!! He is bigger than me but he will always be my baby brother!!!! Having Christmas in a small town was a very nice change. Everyone goes to the same santa's breakfast, and the town gets lit up with lights, it was beautiful.

New Years: Our New Years plans were amazing!!! We came over to Vancouver to spend New Years with Dave and Kari and the kids, and we were hoping to see many of you at the skating party on  the 31st,  but we had an unexpected change of events. On saturday the 30th, I started to have preterm labour contractions (at 27 weeks in my pregnancy) and I ended up at BC Womens's hospital until January 2nd!! It was really scary, but the doctors were able to stop the contractions, and every thing settled down. The baby is extremely healthy and so am I. I think i have been so tired from the holidays and Gloria has been sick with bronchitis and ear infections. so I guess my body told me "YOU NEED TO REST SUE!!"    So I have been on bedrest for the past week. reading lots of books and just resting. We were so grateful to be in Vancouver, God definitely had greater plans for us being there, and knew....we were in the perfect place for this sort of thing to happen.

Hoping to be back soon...we really miss all of you!!!
